1. What we collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to operate Inkcheck:

• Email address — when you purchase a plan, so we can send your license key and important account updates.
• Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
• License key usage — we store your license key and associated plan (Inkcheck Pro) to validate your license.
• Email signups — if you subscribe to updates via our landing page, we store your email address.

2. What we do NOT collect

• Your manuscript text — Inkcheck runs entirely in your browser. Your writing never leaves your device.
• Browsing behavior — we do not use advertising trackers or sell data to third parties.
• Unnecessary personal data — we don't ask for your name, address, or anything beyond what's needed to deliver the service.

3. How we use your information

• To deliver your license key after purchase
• To validate your license when you activate a key in the app
• To send transactional emails (license key delivery, payment receipts)
• To send product updates if you've opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time)

4. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate Inkcheck:

• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe Privacy Policy
• Resend — transactional email delivery. Resend Privacy Policy
• Cloudflare — hosting, DNS, and Workers (our license API). Cloudflare Privacy Policy
• Google Analytics — anonymous usage analytics on public pages (not in the editor). Google Privacy Policy

5. Data retention

We retain your license key and email address for as long as your license is valid. Inkcheck Pro is a one-time purchase and the license is permanent, so this record is retained indefinitely — there is no cancellation and no expiry. You can request deletion at any time.

6. Your rights

You have the right to request a copy of the data we hold about you, request correction or deletion, and unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. Contact us via the email address on your Stripe receipt.

7. Cookies

Inkcheck does not use tracking cookies. The app uses browser localStorage to save your license key and editor preferences locally. This data never leaves your device. Our public pages use Google Analytics (anonymised).

8. Children's privacy

Inkcheck is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "last updated" date at the top and notify active subscribers of significant changes by email.
